Ignorance is Bliss
One thing that I have noticed is that ignorance is bliss. When I came into the knowledge of self and realize that a lot of what I was taught in the past was wrong, I began to change. What I found is that in changing, I am starting to feel by myself. I feel accountable because I am learning the truth about religion, spirituality, and society. Knowing these truths, I am accountable for not doing what I know is suppose to be done. People around me see that I have changed and I feel they do not know how to deal or act around me. I am the same fun loving person that I have always been, but there are just some tings that I do not do and will not compromise on. In this world, we have to stand for the right thing. So many in this world are confused. You look around and see beautiful black women with weaves down to there butts and colored contacts and they look at me as if I need a makeover because I rather be natural than made into something that I am not. It is stamped in our DNA to hate black and anything that resembles it and it is more of the norm to hate yourself then to love and accept what YAH has made you to be. You see black men that wear their pants under there asses and feel like, "hey if I got a couple of dollars, I gotta have the biggest house, the fliest car, and the lightest chick." They act like having material things and acting like jackasses will give them validation. When the truth is, being a black man means more than they can ever comprehend. Sometimes I look at the world with sadness, because I realize that it is what it is and change is not coming anytime soon. But I will try to educate as many as I can on the truth because it is my duty as a daughter of YAH.

Where have I been?
It has a long time. Well over a year. I have been every kind of busy. I have been working at Tiny's Nail Bar for the past year and it has definitely been an experience. I have met a lot of people. Some that I don't care to ever see again. And, some that I will always have a connection too. I have gone through some changes with my hair. September of last year, I combed my hair out of the locks that I had. I just wore an afro mostly. I straightened it a few times but I missed my locks. May of this year, I rejoined the locked nation and I am so happy. I spoke with a co-worker and she told me that she used to be locked. She said that she noticed that she felt differently when she took her locks out. When she said that, I laughed because I thought that it was just me. I thought that people would think I was crazy for saying that and she told me that he felt the same. It's true that you do feel a difference when you cut or take your locks out. Now that I am locked again, I feel like myself and I am loving it. I refuse to be without them again.
It's been a while but I am back. Are you ready for me!!!!!

On 05/19/2010, Dred Love had our first radio show. It was wonderful. My co-host was wonderful. We discussed everything beauty, hair, fashion, and talent. It was truly amazing. I enjoy being able to discuss issues that is relevant to my community. I believe that this thing is going to grow and become bananas.

Products
Hello everyone,
I figured out that in being natural and locked, products are very important. Some products are better than others. Our mission is to assist you with finding product that is right for you.
Right now i want to discuss a product that i have used for my locks. I am a loctician, and before i use a product on a client i first try the product to test it's quality. I purchased carol's daughters lock butter and tui smoothie conditioner. I shampoo my hair and then used the conditioner. I let it sit on much hair for five minutes. I rinsed my hair and noticed how soft my hair was. I liked that about the conditioner. I then proceeded to use the lock butter and was a bit disappointed. First of all i noticed that the product has beeswax in it. For African Americans, we do not need to use beeswax because our hair has a natural curl. So i wazzup a little skeptical about it. I chose to use the product to try it out. A couple weeks later i noticed that lint was collecting around my roots and when i shampooed my hair, it was this gunk that would not come out. This is because of the beeswax in the product. I finally got the stuff out with an apple cider vinegar rinse.
This is my results of using that product. You my try it and get different results but i will not use it again.

Just Be You!
Hello my natural and locked bruthas and sistahs this week has been amazing. I am trying to design a web page for dred love. I am also working in a spa promoting natural nail care.
Today while i was doing a manicure a lady complimented my hair. She said that she wish she had the patience to go natural and lock her hair. I thought to myself, "not again". Why does going natural need patience. I promise you that if we were in Africa, we would be natural and we wouldn't need patience cause it would be the norm. Because we are here in the States, and our culture is Europeanized (is that a word), being how we were created needs patience. Does it? I felt that way one time. I have wanted to lock my hair for years but i wouldn't. I would start the process and grow impatient and relax my hair.
Why is chemically relaxing our hair the norm.
I have made it my mission to encourage as many women as possible to be natural. Whether you are black and using relaxers, whether you are white straightening your hair, no matter who you are be yourself. If you are feeling as though it takes patience, then find that inner patience and do you.
Last story, on YouTube, a young lady by the name of Toyaboo2 did a video stating that she wants to go natural but her mom and boyfriend was negative about it. I did a video response to this video that is how moved I was by her video. I want to say to you, if you make the decision to go natural and loveones are negative about it. stay away from them and do you. You are what matter and you have got to make you happy.
Too all,
Peace to you
